Ex-petroleum minister, Kachikwu, to unveil four new books

A former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, has announced that he will present his four new books to the public this week.

Kachikwu, a former president of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, made the announcement on Sunday on his website.

He said the presentation of the books would be done on Thursday alongside six previous works.

The new books are titled ‘Nigerian Petroleum Industry – 2015 to the future’, ‘Nigerian Foreign Investment Law and Policy’, ‘Gas Development in Nigeria – Legal and policy framework’, and ‘Nigerian Law of Contract Study Companion’.

Kachikwu said, “These are policy and law books and together with 6 previous works; they represent my humble contribution to policy debates and legal scholarship.

“I have borrowed shamelessly from all the experience that I gathered in my four years of policy superintendence of the Nigerian oil sector 2015 -2019. I believe that putting in print some of the major policy initiatives we pushed in those years and my views on what should be our directional policies only helps to raise the debates and create options in governance direction.”

President Muhammadu Buhari is the special guest of honour at the virtual book launch, with the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva; a former Minister of Defence, Gen. T.Y. Danjuma; and the Secretary-General, OPEC, Dr Mohammed Barkindo, among the guests of honour.
