Transcorp Power’s Quarterly Profit Jumps 50% as Generating Capacity Rises

Transcorp Power Plc, a subsidiary of Transnational Corporation Plc, saw its profit before tax rise to N43.3 billion in the first three months of this year from N28.8 billion a year earlier.

Its unaudited results for the first quarter show that revenue jumped by 55 percent to N105.4 billion, buoyed by an increase of 25 percent in available generating capacity.

“We delivered a strong performance in Q1 2025, reflecting our disciplined execution, reliable operations, and unwavering focus on efficiency,” said its managing director/CEO Peter Ikenga. “Despite the challenges impacting the sector, we continue to optimise our generating capacity from 500MW in Q1 2024 to 625MW in Q1 2025. We remain firmly committed to delivering long-term value for our shareholders while powering progress across Africa”.
