Dangote Cement regains crown as most valuable company

Dangote Cement reclaimed its position as the most valuable company on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Friday, one month after losing its to Airtel Africa.

Africa’s biggest cement maker lost the top spot on January 14 as its market capitalisation tumbled to N7.34 trillion from N8.16 trillion the previous day, making it the third-most valuable company. That compared with Airtel Africa’s N8.11 trillion and BUA Foods’ N7.47 trillion.

Its valuation rose by 1.24 percent to N8.18 trillion on Friday, compared to Airtel’s N8.11 trillion, according to NGX data.
