TotalEnergies reappoints Pouyanné as CEO

French energy giant TotalEnergies has announced the reappointment of Patrick Pouyanné as chairman and CEO.

The announcement was made in a statement at the end of the combined shareholders’ meeting on Friday.

Pouyanne was appointed CEO in 2014 after the death of Christophe de Margerie in Russia.

“I would like to thank our shareholders for their support on the resolutions approved by the Board of Directors, and in particular to the renewal of my term of office as Director and that of Jacques Aschenbroich, lead independent director, as well as to the report on the transition strategy implemented by the company,” he said on Friday.
