NNPC assures Egbin power station of increased gas supply

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has assured Egbin Power Plc of increased supply of gas in a bid to boost power generation in the country,

Egbin is the largest power generating station in Nigeria with an installed capacity of 1,320 megawatts, consisting of six units of 220MW each.

The power station has seen its output limited significantly for years by lack of adequate gas supply.

The Group Managing Director, NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari, said in a tweet on Monday that he visited Egbin thermal power plant and NNPC-NGC gas metering station.

“Assurances of sustained and subsequent elevated gas supply delivered. Great, effective and passionate teams at Egbin Power Ltd and NGC/NGMC West,” he tweeted.
