Dangote Cement Back as Nigeria’s Most Valuable Firm as MTN Slips to Third
Dangote Cement, Africa’s largest cement producer, has returned as the most valuable company on the Nigerian Exchange Limited, after MTN Nigeria Communications’ shares fell 4.29% on Wednesday.
Markets Reporters had reported on Tuesday that Dangote Cement overtook BUA Foods to become the second most valuable listed company, following a 7.22% rise in its share price to N1,040.
Dangote Cement’s market capitalisation was N17.55 trillion on Wednesday, while MTN’s declined by N760 billion to N16.79 trillion. The drop pushed the telecoms firm to third place, behind BUA Foods, which closed with a valuation of N17.41 trillion.
