Magodo Suffers Total Blackout on Underground Cable Fault

Residents of Magodo Phase 2, a popular upscale neighborhood in Lagos, have been in total blackout since the wee hours of Tuesday morning due to what Ikeja Electric attributed to underground cable fault.

The power firm, in a message to the so-called prestige customers late Tuesday, said supply would not be restored last night  as “the source of fault on Magodo 33kV has been drilled down to underground cable fault”. 

“Work is ongoing to detect the point of damage and provide necessary resolution to the fault,” it said. “In the interim, work is ongoing to pick supply from another source but that can’t be completed today due to limitations beyond control.”
