Nigeria’s oil output falls for first time in five months
Crude oil production in Nigeria declined in February for the first time in five months, new official data shows.
Africa’s top oil producer saw its oil output rise steadily since October from 1.33 million barrels per day (bpd) to 1.54 million bpd in January, according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.
But the country pumped 1.46 million bpd last month, down 5.19 percent. Its total production, including condensate, fell to 1.67 million bpd from 1.74 million bpd in January.
