NNPC’s fuel sales revenue hit N289bn in December

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has said it generated N288.77 billion in revenue from the sale of petroleum products in December, up from N226.08 billion in the previous month.

The NNPC said on Friday that 2.26 billion litres of white products were sold and distributed by its subsidiary Petroleum Products Marketing Company in December, compared to 1.72 billion litres in November.


It said this comprised 2.25 billion litres of petrol, translating to 72.72 million litres/day, 11.40 million litres of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) and 0.48 million litres of kerosene. 

Total sale of white products for the period of December 2019 to December 2020 stood at 18.46 billion litres and petrol accounted for 18.33 billion litres or 99.29 percent, according to a statement. 


The corporation said total revenues generated from the sales of white products for the period December 2019 to December 2020 stood at N2.22 trillion, where petrol contributed about 99.09 percent of the total sales with a value of N2.19 trillion. 


It said 43 pipeline points were vandalised in December, representing about 18.60 percent increase from the 35 points recorded in November. 

“Mosimi Area accounted for 56 percent of the vandalised points while Kaduna Area and Port Harcourt accounted for the remaining 33 percent and 12 percent respectively,” it said.

The NNPC said its trading surplus for the month of December rose 80.12 percent to N24.19 billion from N13.43 billion surplus recorded in November.
