MTN Nigeria Swings to N415bn Profit in First Half
MTN Nigerian Communications, the country’s biggest telecommunications company, reported a profit after tax of N414.9 billion in the first six months of the year compared with a loss of N519.1 billion a year earlier.
“This marked turnaround underscores the enhanced quality of our earnings and the growing resilience of our financial position, reinforcing confidence in the sustainability of our recovery and long-term value creation,” CEO Karl Toriola said in the earnings report released on Wednesday.
He pointed out that the macroeconomic conditions in Nigeria showed notable improvements in the period, including a relatively stable naira, improved foreign exchange liquidity and easing inflationary pressures.
“Looking ahead, we expect to sustain strong operational and financial growth momentum in the second half of 2025, supported by a more stable macroeconomic and regulatory environment, continued demand for our services, the benefit of recent price adjustments and network investments,” he said.
