The Central Bank of Nigeria has rescheduled its first Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of the year for the second time.
In a statement on Monday, the apex bank 299th MPC meeting will now be held on February 19 and 20, as against February 17 and 18.
The meeting was initially slated for January 27–28 but was postponed reportedly to allow time for the rebased inflation and Gross Domestic Product figures to be released. But the National Bureau of Statistics is yet to release the results of the rebasing, although it set a target of end of January for the launch.
“The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced that the 299th meeting of its Monetary Policy Committee earlier scheduled for February 17 and 18, 2025, will now be held on Wednesday, February 19, and Thursday, February 20, 2025.”
