Nigeria faces more blackouts on national grid instability
Blackouts have worsened in many parts of Nigeria as the national power grid suffered increased instability.
“We have received multiple reports of outages across our injection substations as at 1:47 hours today,” Ikeja Electric, one of the distribution companies, said on Monday in a notice to customers.
“This is pointer to the current instability of the National grid and an attempt to prevent an imminent national grid collapse. Supply would be restored gradually to various locations as soon as there is an improvement. The time frame cannot be determined at the moment. We apologise for the inconvenience,” it added.
