Naira hits fresh record low against dollar
The Nigerian currency extended its decline on Thursday on the official market, closing a new record low of N996.75 to a dollar.
The naira weakened by 16 percent from 836.61/$ on Wednesday, data from FMDQ Group show. It plunged to as low as 1,100/$ during trading.
The turnover in the Nigeria Autonomous Foreign Exchmage Market rose to $228.54 million from $113.52 million the previous day.
