GTBank suspends use of naira card for international transactions
Guaranty Trust Bank Limited, one of the tier-one banks in Nigeria, announced on Thursday that it had suspended the use of its naira card for international and Point of Sale (PoS) transactions.
Many deposit money banks in the country have slashed the monthly spending limits on naira cards on the back of the scarcity of foreign exchange.
“We write to inform you that you will no longer be able to use your Naira Mastercard for international online and POS transactions effective 31st December 2022,” the bank said in an email to customers. “Kindly note that you can use your GTBank dollar card for all your international spending requirements.”
