Airtel Africa signs deals for tower sales in Chad, Gabon
Airtel Africa, a provider of telecommunications and mobile money services, has entered into memorandum of understanding agreements for the potential sale of its tower assets in Chad and Gabon to Helios Towers Plc.
For the Gabon asset, Airtel Africa and Helios Towers have extended their MoU arrangement, with completion still subject to Helios Towers obtaining a passive infrastructure licence, according to a statement on Friday.
It said the MoU arrangement relating to tower assets in Chad expired on Feb. 24, 2022, and Airtel Africa and Helios Towers mutually agreed that this would not be renewed.
“Airtel Africa will continue to provide further market updates as and when appropriate,” the statement added.
